Welcome to EPC’s New Interim Pastor

EPC News

We are delighted to welcome Fred Foy and Cecily Strang to Eastminster! Rev. Dr. Fred Foy accepted the call to serve as Eastminster’sInterim Pastor and has now been officially approved by Central Florida Presbytery. Fred Foy Strang is a dynamic, engaging, experienced, well-educated, charismatic, people-oriented, spirit-filled, and spirit-led pastor. He was unanimously nominated by the Church Interim Pastor Nominating Committee and subsequently unanimously approved by the Session.

Fred Foy has a Ph.D. in Divinity from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has been a pastor in a variety of settings and churches, including a prison, hospital, and multiple Presbyterianchurches in various states since 1987. Fred has been on missions in Africa for over seven years. He is an adjunct professor at three institutions of higher education. In addition, Pastor Fred Foy has received his Interim Minister Training Certification.

The IPNC found Fred Foy to be highly engaging, articulate, an awesome preacher (see Traditional Service, 6/6/21, 24 minutes into the Service), and committed to bringing ALL folks to know and love the Lord. He has team-building management skills and understands that his role as an interim pastor requires him to come to EPC without “his” agenda, get to know the congregation quickly, and help all to develop a relationship with God and each other. He is committed to working with the Session and the congregation through the Pastor Search Committee process and staying with us until a senior pastor is installed.

We will also be welcoming Dr. Cecily Strang, who holds her Masters in Nursing Education and her Doctorate in Nursing.
