I am a third generation pastor coming out of Southern Baptist churches, Naval Chapels, 5 years of wrestling with God (God won!), and 25 years ordained ministry and consulting in the PC(USA). I’ve lived from Buffalo, NY in the north to Melbourne Beach in the south, from Greenwich, CT in the east to San Francisco in the west.
God, Family, Travel, Education and Savings are values that guide life. In terms of God, I strive to be a follower of Jesus, sharing the inseparable love, inspiration and grace I’ve experienced. I enjoy serving with the highly capable, creative people at Eastminster and am inspired by the many ways members serve this community in life-giving ways.
As for family, I am married to Julie, an educator and missionary, for over 30 years. We met in New Orleans, courted at Princeton Theological Seminary and have served churches in New Jersey, Georgia, and Florida. We have three sons—Brian (tech worker in Colorado), Jared (sports and news producer in Columbia, SC) and Jacob (dual master’s candidate at Princeton Theological Seminary and Rutgers University). Some favorite trips include international forays to Greece, Morocco, Italy, Israel and Peru. Locally we love house boating on the Suwannee River, Cedar Key, and Saint Augustine.
I’m excited about the coming years at Eastminster. In 2025 Eastminster will be 75 years old. My hope is that as we look back we will see God’s care and encouragement, and as we look forward we expect God’s guidance in times of blue skies and God’s presence in any storm. May we discern and do God’s will together!
