The annual fall concert by Brevard’s premier choral ensemble will feature music of reverence, praise and worship, in selections by composers Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, as well as Randall Thompson, Eric Whitacre and John Rutter. Interim Artistic Director Beth Green will conduct the Chamber Singers in performance, and Founder and Director Emeritus David Vogeding will accompany the group on the pipe organ during two of the classical selections. The concert centerpiece is Franz Josef Haydn’s “The Heavens Are Telling,” from his famed oratorio, The Creation. The elegant “Hallelujah” by Beethoven is from Christ on the Mount of Olives, the earliest of his three major choral works. The evocative “Alleluia” by Randall Thompson and ethereal “Lux Aurumque” by Eric Whitacre are juxtaposed with energetic spirituals. The concert is free of charge, with a $10 suggested donation.
